A baby has 3 Super Powers!

 

We went back to hospital for baby's check up. At the time, we were so new that I didn't know that I need to standby formula milk in case baby is hungry. 

While waiting, baby was hungry and crying. She cried like it's the End of The World. Like Thunder roaring. 

Wei Sheng (short for WS) kept looking for me (I was having appointment at the Gynae too) so that baby can latch on me. 

And once she latches on me. Then the whole atmosphere suddenly became so quiet and easy. 😁😁😁

Confinement center :  She cries inside the room with door closed. I can hear it from  the nursery room at the ground floor. 

Even if my baby does not own the pair of big dreamy eyes. She is still attractive to me, agree? 

So one of her super powers is that she uses her advantage of her dream big eyes to attract you. 

Actually, new born baby's eye sight hasn't fully developed yet. They can barely see colours for now. However, the way she looks at me....Owh....how to resist?  

As of now, She can't babble yet. She cries only for now. 

I have seen this on my friend before. My friend who has also given birth not long ago.  ...She speaks to me like how people usually talk.

She speaks with more dramatic intonation, and very very repetitive. 

and short sentences. 

Then it was our turn. 

It happens to WS and me as well

Even if you are not a parent, you dont need to learn baby's talk. You will master  it the moment you carry them.😄😄😄😄

My doubt as a new born parent

1. Why does baby hiccups? 

Newborn hiccups are most frequently caused by baby overfeeding, eating too quickly or swallowing a lot of air. “Any of these things can lead to stomach distention,” Forgenie says. When the stomach distends it actually pushes against the diaphragm, which causes it to spasm, and voilà—hiccups!

2. Food that helps with lactation. 

a. Good source of protein 

b. Oatmeal  

According to anecdotal reports, oatmeal is one of the best foods for boosting the milk supply. It is also a good source of nutrients that are important for breastfeeding women and babies.

These nutrients include:

• fiber
• iron
• magnesium
• zinc

According to the University of Wisconsin’s Department of Family Medicine and Community Health, oatmeal’s high iron content may explain why it is popular with breastfeeding women. Low iron levels can reduce the milk supply.

Oats are also versatile and easy to prepare, making them a great meal option.

Avoid: High-Mercury Fish

One food that you absolutely want to steer clear of while breastfeeding is fish high in mercury like tuna, swordfish and mackerel. Even in small amounts, mercury toxins can pass through breast milk to your baby and affect their brain and nervous system.

Mother's Love : The first ever confinement food 

Erm...I guess pics speak a thounsands words

My brother Heng told me this. 

He said Mami woke up in the middle of night to google for the confinement food recipe for me. 

Soo Ann  also emphasizes that mami spent a whole lot of time to prepare the confinement food. and the 木瓜什么什么汤（savoury traditional Chinese herbal soup one） for me.

And my siblings are the ones who helped in packing I guess. I remembered my mom said that they also put in the bowl so that I can drink the soup. 

Story 2 

Father's Love : The Socks   

I didn't know this story until my sister told me. 

The socks were Rm 40 for 2 pairs. (It's from Uniqlo anyway)

I mean you can buy it at some other place with much lower price and more quantity. for example 7 pairs at Rm 35. Why would you spend more? 

My sister said she actually advised Ah Jie and Mami a few thousand times no need to spend so much to buy socks one. However, my sister  paid for it in the end because Ah Jie insisted. 

I think Ah Jie might think that my body was very weak after giving birth to a baby hence should buy me better socks so that It can really keep me warm. 

Luckily I asked about this. I wouldn't know this if I didnt ask. You should have told me this mar~~ HaiYor...Luckily I did ASK. 

After I heard the story. I was like...It's okay I will pay for it. The socks on me. 

After the phone conversation with my sis. I went to my wardrobe, and looked at THE SOCKS。

So that I would know which 2 pairs are them. 

and before I knew this, I would care to wear socks ....but know...I will diligently wear it... and take good care of it. (Like I wont wear the socks out to keep it away from Covid, haahah).

I guess I would keep the socks even after it has holes , and seal it properly with Ikea zip lock bags.

What can you pursue as a full-time mom going to get a job ?

1.  Picking up new, beneficial skills

The below ones are more into the health and wellness related which fits my personality. After giving birth, I have new elevated awareness and increased priority on health and wellness related stuff like insurance, yoga, diet.

 

 

Learn some new skills which is beneficial to you. You can take a crash course, or It could also be you are taking 2-3 years to learn and gain experienced in order to be a professionally certified instructor , etc.

 

1.      Urut (The masseuse who Urut for me for the delivery was a full-time mommy before she ventured into full time masseuse. Her skills are so good she doesn’t need marketing herself. People go to her.)

3.      Yoga instructor (and there are so many different variant of Yoga， Flying Yoga)

4.    Pilates instructor

5.    Art : Drawing , Music, Singing

6.    Cook :Selling your most popular dishes  : Overnight Oatmeal, Nasi Minyak, small scale catering,  cookies, Ang Ku Kueh , 满月礼盒

7.    Cooking school teacher: Teach people how to cook confinement meal , specialise into a certain type of cuisine like ..western cuisine, Japanese cuisine, Ramen, Pizza, etc

10.Be a sonographer (Just my personal preference, haha. I really wish that I could know the position of my baby during the ultrasound screening everytime, but I don’t know how to interpret it.)

 

11.English teacher (You can offer yourself to teach English if your English is above average, because in Malaysia , we speak broken English, so the demand to learn proper English is very high. )

12. Food Blogger / Mama blogger

Just now we went to Klinik Aurora @Shah Alam Seksyen 13 – have to do the jaundice test by drawing blood. But my baby ‘s blood is clotting, coz she has so many blood test at UMMC on both her foot ady.

 

So the Klinik Siti have this test- Jaundice test through scanning, not the blood taking, although less accurate than blood drawing.

To scan through the abdomen, leg and forehead. No need blood taking one. So can go here if don’t want to take blood.
